Webinar: Private Sector Partnerships and Opportunities for the SDGs in Small Island Developing States

Organized by the UN Global Compact, the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs, and the International Chamber of Commerce, this webinar on June 27, 2019 at 09:30 am (Eastern Standard Time) will raise awareness about the global Sustainable Development Goal processes and partnership possibilities available to the private sector in the lead up to the High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) and UN General Assembly Week (UNGA), with a focus on the small island developing states (SIDS).

The first part of the webinar will focus on partnerships with and for the most vulnerable countries, the SIDS. The second part of the webinar will focus on private sector opportunities during HLPF and UNGA.

The webinar is tailored to interested private sector participants. During the first part of the webinar, the co-chairs of the SIDS Steering Committee will brief participants about the situation of small islands developing States and their development priorities, the high-level meetings to review and solicit further partnerships to support SIDS, and opportunities for the private sector to contribute and engage in these discussions. The second part of the webinar will focus on the upcoming SDG Summit as well as other events and opportunities for the private sector to engage on partnerships discussions at the UN.

The Webinar aims to raise awareness of the SAMOA Pathway and SDG processes at the global level, how to engage in them, and inform the private sector about partnerships possibilities including in small island developing States.
